JOHANNESBURG - Thirteen people have lost their lives in two horrific crashes in the Free State.
In the first tragedy, 10 people were killed when a taxi collided with a truck on the N1, South of Koppies, towards Kroonstad on Sunday morning.
A truck driver and taxi passenger survived the crash and were rushed to a nearby hospital.
In the second incident, three people, including a nine-year-old child, died on Saturday night when two bakkies collided on the R30 between Allanridge and Odendaalsrus.
The cause of both accidents remains unclear and authorities are now investigating.
