JOHANNESBURG - The four police officers suspected of assisting the escape of a mining kingpin in Stilfontein, North West, will appear in court in March.
The officers were granted bail on Friday after their appearance in the Stilfontein Magistrates Court.
Police confirm that the officers were on duty on 15 January when James Neo Tshwaeli, also known as Tiger, escaped after his appearance from Shaft 11.
North West Police Commissioner Patrick Asaneng said, “Since all four have been granted bail of R1,000, they are expected to appear before court on 5 March 2025. I can say that our investigation is proceeding very well.”
