Man arrested over rape of Hanover Park girl (9) due to make first court appearance on Friday

CAPE TOWN - A 51-year-old man arrested in connection with the rape of a nine-year-old girl in Hanover Park, is expected to make his first appearance in the Wynberg Magistrates Court on Friday.

Police said new details have emerged in the matter.

The suspect was taken into custody on Tuesday, for the alleged kidnapping and rape of a child.

The girl's relatives grew suspicious when she failed to return from Muslim school on Tuesday afternoon.
