JOHANNESBURG - The City of Tshwane has threatened to take legal action against anyone found to be circulating false job advertisements on social media.
The metro said it recently came across a fake truck driver vacancy that was being shared online.
The fraudulent advert stated the city was looking for a physically fit driver who could operate specialised machinery.
The metro’s spokesperson, Lindela Mashigo, said the metro doesn’t share its vacancies on social media.
“The public is warned that this advertisement is false and did not originate from the City of Tshwane. The city does not advertise jobs through social media or messaging platforms. All legitimate job vacancies are posted in newspapers and on the city's official website.”
