Cape Flats Arts & Culture Festival partners with Kfm 94.5 to spotlight local creative excellence

The Cape Flats Arts & Culture Festival (CFAF) is proud to announce an official partnership with Kfm 94.5, the Western Cape’s leading radio station, in a collaborative celebration of homegrown talent, creativity, and community resilience.

The partnership marks a major milestone in CFAF’s mission to reframe how Cape Flats communities are seen - not through deficit, but through dignity, culture, and creative expression. Together with Kfm 94.5, CFAF will amplify local voices and create new platforms for artists, storytellers, and cultural practitioners who reflect the vibrant soul of the region.

“This partnership is more than symbolic; it’s about shifting the spotlight toward communities whose contributions have too often been overlooked. Together with Kfm 94.5, we’re creating space for pride, presence, and possibility. The partnership ensures that the creative pulse of the Cape Flats is front and centre in this movement.”
- Joniff Cleophas, Strategic Implementation Lead - CFAF
“Through our programmes and activities, we are developing opportunities for our communities to re-envision how they see themselves, and how we connect as communities of the Cape Flats. To our team, it’s about art, creativity, talent and culture. We want to work with local creators, innovators, businesses and organisations, encouraging collaboration, connection and potential. Being endorsed by the Western Cape Provincial Government (WCPG) and supported by Kfm 94.5, we are grateful to our partners who understand what it means and are willing to bring our communities together through this cultural movement.”
- Clint White, Founder - CFAF
“The Cape Flats Arts & Culture Festival stands as a testament to the immense artistic talent that exists within the community, offering an invaluable space for emerging and established artists to share their work. By doing so, it not only enriches the cultural landscape but also promotes social cohesion and unity through the universal language of art. The festival plays a crucial role in encouraging local tourism, supporting the local economy, and offering young people an opportunity to engage in creative pursuits that may otherwise not be accessible to them."
- Themba Mchunu, Director - WCPG Arts, Culture & Language Services
“Kfm 94.5 understands its responsibility as a pillar within the Western Cape Community. As Kfm 94.5, we are proud to stand behind the Cape Flats Arts & Culture Festival, a bold and necessary platform championing local talent and untold stories. This partnership reflects our commitment to celebrating the creative pulse of the Cape Flats and amplifying voices that deserve to be heard."
- Hennie Myburgh, Station Manager - Kfm 94.5

CFAF is calling on the Cape Flats community to get involved. “We’re looking for Cape Flats artists, painters, sculptors, live performers, researchers, cultural influencers and ambassadors to join us in showcasing the magic of the Cape Flats. We are part of Cape Town’s legacy. Let’s celebrate our talents and contributions to the city we call home.”, says White.

As the countdown to CFAF’s official launch continues, this partnership sets the tone for a season of unity, colour, and creative celebration of our quintessential Cape Flats’ communities, and speaks to the initiatives’ ethos - Unity in Community.
