Joburg Mayor Dada Morero restructures his mayoral committee
After months of promising to reshuffle his committee, Morero has finally made some changes.

JOHANNESBURG - The mayor of Johannesburg, Dada Morero, has restructured his mayoral committee.
He’s appointed Loyiso Masuku as the city’s new finance MMC, moving her from shared services.
Masuku fills a post left vacant by the African Independent Congress (AIC)’s Margaret Arnorld, who was re-elected as Speaker of council in July.
Council whip Sthembiso Zungu will take over from Masuku at shared services.
After months of promising to reshuffle his committee, Morero has finally made some changes.
The mayor’s statement, however, makes no mention of the transport portfolio, nor who from the Patriotic Alliance (PA) is likely to take up that seat.
Kenny Kunene resigned as transport MMC and councillor in July, following allegations linking him to a criminal syndicate.
The PA has indicated it wants Liam Jacobs, one of its newest recruits and its Tshwane 2026 mayoral candidate, to take up the post.
Meanwhile, Morero said that the changes, which are effective immediately, were aimed at fostering stability in the city.
