JOHANNESBURG - KwaZulu-Natal police said that two more suspects believed to be linked to the murder of PRASA regional manager, Jacob Khoaele, were still at large.
This comes after officers arrested a fourth suspect earlier this week.
Khoaele was gunned down in his vehicle in La Lucia in January this year.
Investigators from the provincial serious and violent crimes unit made their first breakthrough on 27 July, with the arrest of twin brothers, Vukani and Vukile Mchunu.
Provincial police spokesperson, Robert Netshiunda, said that a third suspect, alleged mastermind, Sandile Ngcobo, was arrested earlier in August.
"Ngcobo made his first appearance on 4 August 2025, and he is also the accused person on the triple murder and attempted murder case in which he allegedly shot and killed three people who were accused of a murder which they committed at Msinsini in 2021. The three had just appeared in court when they were shot and killed inside their vehicle in Hibberdene on 27 June 2024. A passerby also sustained a gunshot wound during the incident."
