A pilot project between WeBuyCars and View4You has ended abruptly.

‘The day we make it about money over people; we've lost the plot’ – View4You ends collab with WeBuyCars

View4You is a company which inspects vehicles for people to assess any issues before they sign a purchase agreement.

They can pick up things like mileage being turned back or major accident repairs, so buyers can avoid a costly mistake.

Their 'menu' of services ranges from an accident history report to test drives, visual inspection and service history, to the full package.

The company recently signed a collaborative agreement with WeBuyCars, but it ended abruptly and with immediate effect on Wednesday.

In their media statement, Cavie said: "While this arrangement may make much business sense, it does not make Godly sense for us to continue. View4You remains steadfast in upholding its values, independence, and credibility."

Cavie says this was a well-intentioned project, but it did not work out as they had hoped.

He says WeBuyCars asked them to have View4You inspectors on the floor, but they refused as they did not want to tarnish their credibility or independence.

Instead, they agreed to have sales representatives on the floor to help consumers.

“Their hearts for what they wanted to do is out of this world.”

“We were not allowed to say what View4You says. We say what we say, whether it's on SABC1, ENCA or 702, but at WeBuyCars, we can’t.”
- Malcolm Cavie, Founder - View4You

Going forward, he says the company will not collaborate with any dealership and would like to stick with their model, where they are not restricted on what they say or post.

“The day we make it about finances above the people, we've lost the plot.”
