CAPE TOWN - Prosecutors in the Anabela Rungo identity fraud case have requested more time to complete their investigation.
Rungo, the mother of former Miss SA finalist Chidimma Adetshina, appeared in court on Thursday morning.

In May, her bail conditions were relaxed after her request to the court to do so after saying the conditions were taking a toll on her mental health.
Stefanie De Saude Darbandi, an immigration lawyer part of Rungo’s team, said her client has abided by her bail conditions.
“Miss Rungo has complied fully and continues to make herself available to authorities when required. She's always opened herself to questioning and investigation, giving both the Department of Home Affairs and the state an opportunity to do what they need to do.” Darbandi said.
Darbandi says they are also appealing a decision by the Department of Home Affairs.
"We have submitted an application to the Department of Home Affairs requesting that she be declared a non-prohibited person that application is awaiting a final decision from the minister.”
Rungo will be back in the Cape Town Magistrates Court on December 9 2025.
