JOHANNESBURG - The mother of a missing 35-year-old man is calling on police to prioritise the investigation into her son’s disappearance urgently.

Lebo Mniki was last seen over two weeks ago visiting his girlfriend at the Respublica Princeton student residence in Midrand.

According to police, CCTV footage shows Mniki entering the building, but there is no record of him ever leaving.

His girlfriend and her roommate are believed to be the last people to see him alive, have been questioned; however, no arrests have been made.

Gauteng police are appealing to the public for any information that could assist in locating Mniki.

Spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi noted that the investigation is still ongoing.

“The police are currently following up on any information received to locate and reunite Mniki with his family.”

Mniki’s mother, Nontuthuzelo Mniki, expressed desperation for his return.

“If he is dead, they must just tell me where to find his body, and I will go collect his bones so I can bury him. It's fine, I have accepted that if that’s the reality the lord has committed for me.”
