On Monday, a 38-year-old man was arrested in connection with the murders.

He has also been charged with attempted murder after police discovered another victim who was rushed to hospital.

The foundation had offered the R250,000 reward for any information on the murders.

CEO and founder of TV channel Moja Love, Aubrey Tau, said: "When I saw the story, it was so bad. You felt like this can happen to your family member or someone close to you.

"It can happen to any person. I mean these young kids, they went there to enjoy themselves. Suddenly, they were killed like this. It’s horrible."

He said they will now redirect the funds since a suspect has been arrested.

"We are going to donate it to the family, and it will go a long way with the preparations for the funeral and other things as well. We know it won’t bring those beautiful souls back."
