Bellarmine Mugabe's bail hearing postponed

The 29-year-old son of late Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe’s bail application has been postponed to Thursday due to a power outage at the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court.
Mugabe and his co-accused, Tobias Matonhodze, who are linked to the shooting of a man believed to be a security guard, made a brief appearance on Tuesday.
The incident occurred on 19 February at Mugabe’s lavish estate in Hyde Park.
The pair are charged with possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition, defeating the ends of justice, contravening the Immigration Act, theft, attempted murder and pointing a firearm.

The defence attorney for the two accused, Sinenhlanhla Mnguni, said they are still awaiting documentation from the state.
“At this stage, we are still awaiting receipt of certain documents from the state. However, we have been informed that we will receive those during the course of today (Tuesday) and will thereafter be able to take instructions from our clients and proceed with whatever necessary applications we intend to bring.”
The state has indicated that it intends to oppose their bail application.
