Ford issues urgent safety recall for Puma, EcoSport, Ranger and Everest models
The recall affects more than 5,700 vehicles and includes potential fire hazards, mechanical failures, and an increased risk of accidents.

Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa (FMCSA) has announced safety recalls affecting over 5,700 vehicles.
The recalls include Ford Puma (built November 2021 to September 2024), EcoSport (April 2021 to July 2022), and Ranger and Everest models with 3.0L V6 engines (June 2022 to March 2025), due to potential faults that could lead to engine stalling, fire, or vehicle rollaway.
The issues identified are:
Puma: Fuel line may rub against a bracket and leak, posing a fire or engine stall risk.
EcoSport: Front half shafts may disengage, risking loss of power or rollaway.
Ranger/Everest: Possible camshaft sprocket fracture leading to sudden engine failure.

Ford is encouraging affected customers to urgently book their vehicle in for inspections and repairs at their nearest dealership, free of charge.
