The Gauteng head of the Hawks does not believe there was any interference committed during a raid at the home of alleged crime kingpin Katiso "KT" Molefe.
Major-General Ebrahim Kadwa told the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry on Tuesday that he received an instruction from former Hawks head, Godfrey Lebeya, to verify if the raid on Molefe’s home was legitimate.
Molefe was arrested during a December raid by members of the political killings task team (PKTT) and special task force at his luxury Sandhurst home.

His arrest was in relation to the murder of Vereeniging engineer, Armand Swart.
Kadwa said that he was satisfied that there was no interference by his members during the raid at the home of Katiso "KT" Molefe.
Kadwa deployed a eam of Hawks officers to verify if the raid being carried out by the PKTT and special task force was a legitimate police operation.
"I am very satisfied that there was no interference by our officers or other officers because they just basically did the basic thing to go there. Once they confirmed they were police officers, they got some basic details, and then they would have left. So for me, that is definitely not interference."
Kadwa claims the Hawks officers he instructed to verify the operation spent ten minutes at Molefe’s home before filing an incident report to him and leaving.
