Tender fraud case involving Malusi Booi back in court

CAPE TOWN - The tender fraud case involving former Cape Town Human Settlements MMC Malusi Booi and 25 others is back at the Cape Town Magistrates Court on Friday.
The fraud case is linked to a billion rand housing tender fraud within the city's human settlements directorate during Booi's tenure as MMC.
The case was postponed in October 2024 for further investigations.

Alleged 28s gang boss Ralph Stanfield and his wife Nicole Johnson have been included in this tender fraud case.
Stanfield, Johnson, Booi and others are facing 54 serious charges and the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has indicated that it might add more accused and charges going forward.
Last week, the Hawks raided the offices of Cape Town mayoral committee members JP Smith and Xanthea Limberg.
The police said the raids were in relation to this case.
However, Smith has labelled the raid as a smear campaign to remove him from his position.
