President Cyril Ramaphosa has called on ANC party members to learn from the DA as their municipalities outperform those of the ANC.

Ramaphosa said this at an event at FNB stadium in Soweto where he was addressing ANC councillors.

He added that the ANC must employ capable people to run local governments.

Chikane also spoke to the councillors saying that it was essential to get small things right in local government.

He adds that the ANC was captured and went down a bad path, but they are now in a position to address the challenges people are facing.

“There must be water. There must be no sewage in the streets, there must be no potholes. It's very clear. But you needed to liberate the ANC from the capture to be able to do this.”

He also argues that corrupt individuals do not represent the party as a whole and anyone engaging in corruption in the name of the party is a criminal, not a party member.
