Limpopo police nab 2 suspects wanted for various crimes including kidnapping

JOHANNESBURG - Police in Limpopo have made a breakthrough in the arrest of two dangerous suspects wanted for various crimes, including kidnapping.

It’s understood that a high-impact operation spanning over a three-day period targeted the suspects linked to multiple cases of armed robbery, carjacking and kidnapping in the Sekhukhune district.

The first suspect, aged 37, was found and arrested on Friday in Leeufontein in the North West, and in his possession were three unlicensed firearms, along with several rounds of live ammunition.

Police have also positively linked him to a kidnapping and hijacking incident which occurred earlier this year in Jane Furse.

The second suspect, believed to be the mastermind of the crimes, was tracked down and arrested in Mpumalanga.

Police spokesperson Hlulani Mashaba said the police were working hard to bring closure to victims of violent crimes.
 
“The provincial commissioner of police in Limpopo, Lieutenent General Thembi Hadebe has commended the outstanding work of the Sekhukhune tracking and investigating team for a successful intelligence driven operation that led to the arrest of two dangerous suspects. The suspects, both aged 37, are expected to appear soon before various magistrates' courts to face charges including kidnapping, carjacking, unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.”
