The spiritual side of meat: what happens when we stop eating it?

Have you ever taken a break from eating meat and felt... different?
Maybe it wasn’t just physical. Perhaps you felt emotionally clearer, spiritually tuned in, or even experienced more vivid dreams or had a shift in your mood?
Gogo Dineo says we often think of food purely in terms of health or even habit, but, considering spiritually, what we eat affects our energy, consciousness, and even our soul.
We are spiritual beings, having a human experience, she says.

Ndlandzi adds that the way we eat meat today is not the same way our ancestors would have eaten it.
"We didn't graze cows to consume, it was a token of wealth, and we knew that when we had to eat a cow, there was a ritual of reverence to that beast."

Ndlandzi says being conscious about why, how, and what we are eating is key to maintaining a healthy mind, spirit and body.
