The Freedom Charter was presented at the historic Congress of the People in Kliptown, Johannesburg, on June 25 and 26, 1955. Seventy years later, Eyewitness News returns to Kliptown to speak to residents about whether the values and promises of the Freedom Charter have made a meaningful impact on their lives. Do the people of Kliptown believe the Charter’s vision of freedom, equality and dignity has been realised.
