Elite Men’s Race
The PYGA Euro Steel mountain biker won the elite men’s race in 2:09:56. He edged out a selection that included two former Ride Joburg winners in the highly anticipated finale.
Terlouw had climbed powerfully alongside defending champion Ryan Gibbons and two-time winner Marc Pritzen, distancing Kent Main and a handful of other leading contenders heading into the final 10 kilometres. The trio worked well together until the new, technical final 500 metres.
The mountain biker found his winning move there, diving down the inside of Gibbons on a tight corner. This manoeuvre gained the young rider enough time to sit up and soak up the victory as he crossed the line. Gibbons and Pritzen had to settle for second and third, respectively.
Elite Men's Results:
Jaedon Terlouw: PYGA Euro Steel (2:09:56)
Ryan Gibbons: Lidl Trek (2:09:57 | +1)
Marc Pritzen: Honeycomb 226ers (2:09:57 | +1)

Le Court passed lone breakaway rider Magda Nieuwoudt to seize the lead with 15 kilometres remaining. Once in front, the Tour de France Femmes stage winner never looked back. She took the win ahead of Lucy Young and Nieuwoudt.
