Ekurhuleni mayor says violence and unrest won’t be tolerated after Mboro machete incident

JOHANNESBURG - Ekurhuleni Mayor Nkosindiphile Xhakaza said that violence and unrest would not be tolerated after controversial pastor Paseka 'Mboro' Motsoeneng wielded a machete at a primary school in Katlehong.
A video has been widely circulated showing Motsoeneng in a tense stand-off with teachers at Matsediso Primary School.

It's understood that Mboro forcibly removed his grandchildren from the school after his son was denied access to them.
Motsoeneng’s church, known as the Incredible Happenings, was also torched on Tuesday.
Xhakaza said schools were supposed to be safe spaces.
"We expect a lot from church leaders, and we hope our law enforcement, the arm of the law, will be strengthened because what’s been happening here has been barbaric. I mean, schools are a place of learning."
Meanwhile, five people have since been arrested and are set to appear in court on Wednesday.
