NASA has confirmed that the longest solar eclipse of the century will happen in 2027.

A solar eclipse happens when the moon passes directly between the sun and Earth, casting a shadow that blocks all or some light.

The space administration solar eclipse calendar says the event will take place on Monday, 2 August 2027, at noon local time.

Parts of Europe, North Africa and the Middle East will be under the moon’s shadow.
