EFF Youth Command Convenor Simankeli Mtheli said the protesters gathered at the school in solidarity with the victims of the assault and to demand accountability from the school's leadership.
"We are here to call on the management and the principal to answer for their lack of response and also ask what has happened to the teachers whom the incident was reported to," Mtheli stated.
Mtheli added that the incident was reported on Friday last week, but the school only took action after a video of the incident went viral on social media platforms on Tuesday.
The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) indicated that an internal investigation into the matter is still underway.
